Togolese authorities shut down two Media Houses for breaching licensing rules Two private media channels have been taken off air in Togo for breaching licensing rules. Television station La Chaine du Futur and City FM radio were ordered to stop broadcasting. In an interview, Mathias Ayena, from the official regulator said neither of the two channels obtained the proper authorization before they started broadcasting in 2007. He said those in charge of the media houses have been asked to make the necessary request for consideration. In a statement, Amnesty International said the sanction is disproportionate and an attack against freedom of speech. SOURCE: BBC NEWS
