AFCON 2017: Ghana face Cameroon in semi-final The semi-finals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) continues today (Feb. 2) with the Black Stars of Ghana coming face to face with the Indomitable Loins of Cameroon tonight. The fixture will determine who faces Egypt in Sunday’s (Feb. 4) final in Libreville. Egypt triumphed over Burkina Faso in the first semi-final encounter of the AFCON 2017 in Gabon at the Stade d'Angondje. They dispatched the Stallions on penalties. Meanwhile, the Head Coach of the Cameroonian national team, Hugo Broos, is worried about Ghana’s record in the Africa Cup of Nations, after being in the last four of the competition for the sixth consecutive time. He said Ghana represents a very tough side with very experienced players and a good track record in the competition. According to him, the game will be tough because the Black Stars will come with a unique style, which will be very different from what Senegal presented. He added that he has watched the Ghanaian team over and over again, therefore they have devised the right strategy to outwit them and they hope to work on that when they meet today. He explained that if they lose, it will be because Ghana is stronger not because they were disturbed by another factor. The Cameroonians, last defeated Ghana by a lone goal in the semi-finals of the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations, hosted by Ghana.
