Quebec mosque attack: Student Alexandre Bissonnette charged

A 27 year old French-Canadian student  Alexandre Bissonnette  has been arrested  by the Canadian Police and charged over the fatal shooting of six Muslim worshippers at a mosque in Quebec.
 
Alexandre Bissonnette faces six counts of first-degree murder and five of attempted murder. 

The 27-year-old briefly appeared in a Quebec City court during evening prayers.
  
Vigils have been held across Canada to commemorate those killed and injured.

More than 50 people were at the mosque when the shooting erupted.
 
Nineteen people were wounded, five people are still in hospital and two are  in a critical condition.
 
Mr Bissonnette is a political science and anthropology student at Laval University, which is about three kilometres away from the mosque.
