Parliament forms committees for work in the House Parliament has constituted 14 Standing Committees and 16 Select Committees to help in the work of the House. The Standing Committees include the Public Accounts, Privileges, Government Assurance, Gender and Children and Finance Committees. The Select Committees include Health, Defence and Interior, Communications, Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Education as well as Mines and Energy Committees. The Public Accounts Committee is to be chaired by the member for Ketu North James Klutse Avedzi while the Finance Committee will be chaired by the MP for New Juaben South, Dr. Mark Assibey-Yeboah. The First Deputy Speaker Joseph Osei-Owusu will head the Privileges Committee and the member for Afigya Kwabre South William Owuraku Aidoo has been assigned to head the Mines and Energy Committee. The Defence and Interior Committee will be headed by the MP for Nkoranza North Major Rtd Derek Oduro while MP for Asokwa Patricia Appiagyei is to chair the Local Government and Rural Development Committee.
