Women advocacy groups expresses disappointment with gov`t over its failure to appoint more women as ministers

Women advocacy groups have expressed disappointment with government over its failure to appoint more women as ministers. 

Speaking to Radio Ghana, the Programmes Manager of Women in Law and Development in Africa, WILDAF, Frank Bodza, says, per President Akufo-Addo's ministerial appointments so far, the number of women represented in the 7th Parliament is 19 point seven percent which is unacceptable.
 
He hinted that WILDAF has presented a petition to the Presidency containing a list of the names of 400 competent women who must be considered for ministerial appointment.

Mr. Bodza said the latest research which commends the performance and attendance of some women in the 6th Parliament is a step in the right direction. 

He said it will motivate more women to venture into politics and take up leadership positions.
