24th January, 2017 The daily graphic expresses concern about news of the possibility of Dumsor. The paper describes the looming energy crisis as unfortunate adding that it will retard the progress being made by industries after the three year crises. The Graphic calls on the VRA not to downplay the threat of Dumsor but do everything possible to make sure it does not occur. The paper challenges the new government and the energy minister designate to ensure speedy recovery of all debts owes the ECG, VRA and other supply institutions in order to take away the burden of Dumsor. The Ghanaian times lauds the Chief Fire Officer, Dr. Brown Gaisie and the officers and men for their efforts in instituting innovative measures to enhance their performance. The paper says under his command, the service has commissioned twenty fire stations in various parts of the country. Additionally, the the service has within two years, constructed additional 28 fire stations, whiles others are under construction. The Times he commends the service for taking proactive steps to train about One thousand fire volunteers nationwide to help prevent bushfire. The paper notes that the transformational performance of the service has attracted the attention of various local organisations, who have awarded Dr. Brown Giase for his effective leadership. GBC
