This was made known by the Attorney General and Minister of Justice designate, Gloria Afua Akuffo when she took her turn before the Appointments committee. She said a meeting is due on Tuesday in a bid to salvage the situation once and for all. Mad. Gloria Akuffo advocated a raising of the requirement for the study of law in order to churn out more quality lawyers. She said with the increasing number of institutions offering law programs, it is important for the General legal council and the national accreditation board to liaise and ensure that standards are maintained. She said judging from the work done so far by the out-gone Attorney General on the boundary dispute with La Cote d'Ivoire, when given the nod, she will continue to work with the same team in the interest of the country. On assess to justice, she said she will champion the resourcing of the legal aid scheme with more personnel. GBC
