New Ministerial Portfolios may hurt public purse - Policy Think Tank A Policy Think Tank, STRANEK, is asking the President, Nana Akuffo Addo, to take a second look at the new ministerial portfolios he is creating as this may hurt the public purse. In order to spend the tax payers money judiciously, STRANEK recommends that a law be put in place to define the number of ministries Ghana should have and their various designations checked with a bipartisan legislation. Executive Director of STRANEK, Nii Tettey Tetteh, told Radio Ghana that most of the new portfolios already exist and creating new ones is only a duplication and waste of resources. He added that since 1992, the number of ministries has ranged from nineteen to twenty four and this has worked well. GBC
