ECOWAS Mediation Team Meets Yahya Jammeh Today On Peaceful Handover

The ECOWAS Mediation team will today meet with the embattled Gambia leader Yahya Jammeh, in Banjul, Gambia in a bid to get him to concede and hand over peacefully to the President-elect Adama Barrow. 

The team which consist of ECOWAS Chairperson  and President of Liberia Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Nigeria President and Mediator Muhammadu Buhari and former President and Co-Mediator John Dramani Mahama, were scheduled to meet President Jammeh, on Wednesday but it was postponed as requested by the Gambian leader.

Gambia leader Yahya Jammeh, who lost in the December polls is expected to hand over officially to the President-elect Adama Barrow, on January 18.
