Sanitation day brings improvement in Sekondi Takoradi The country faces a lot of challenges, but among the lot, the issue of poor sanitation exposes residents to various health risks such as the outbreak of cholera and other air and water borne diseases. It is against this back drop that the immediate past president, John Dramani Mahama introduced the National Sanitation Day which is held every first Saturday of every month. The exercise which begun on the 1st of November 2014 according to the Public Relations Officer of the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, John Laste, has gone a long way in improving the sanitation situation in the metropolis. He said campaigns and awareness creation on the need for behavioral change as well as the outsourcing of rubbish collection to agencies has also helped in that direction. GBC
