20-member selection team to pick members for Parliamentary committees

Parliament has constituted a 20-member Selection Committee to select members for the various committees of the House. 

The Selection Committee which is chaired by the Speaker Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye, will work to compose the committees that will reflect different shades of opinion in the House.  

The House has also composed the Business Committee to determine business for the 7th Parliament and the Appointments Committee to vet the President’s ministerial nominees. 

The 20-member Business Committee will be chaired by the Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu with Haruna Iddrisu as Ranking Member. 

The Appointments Committee which is made up of 26 members will be headed by the first Deputy Speaker Joseph Osei-Owusu with Haruna Iddrisu, the Minority Leader as the Ranking Member.
