Sixth Parliament Ends With Call On Members To Protect House's Dignity

The sixth parliament of the fourth republic has just ended its last sitting. 

In his closing remarks, the Speaker, Edward Doe Adjaho called on exiting MPs to uphold the dignity of the house in whatever endeavour they find themselves. 

He said in the cause of his work, his choices were made in good faith without malice, prejudice or monetary influence. 

Mr. Adjoho thanked the president, the rank and file of the NDC and MPs for the co-operation.

A little before midnight, 2013, members of the sixth parliament assembled at Parliament at the instance of the clerk to parliament to be sworn in having elected Edward Doe Adjaho as their speaker. 

In his valedictory speach, Mr. Adjaho said a major legacy of his is the establishment of a scrutiny office.

The Majority Leader, Alban Bagbin charged the next parliament to fully utilize the parliamentary training institute.

The Minority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu on his part called on the political parties to take steps in addressing the attiration rate in parliament

The House will go down in history as being the first to occupy the job six hundred office complex.
