Today Is President Mahama's Last Day In Office

President John Dramani Mahama officially ends his tenure as the fourth President of the fourth Republic of Ghana mid-night today. 

He joins the likes of surviving Former President's Jerry John Rawlings and John Agyekum Kufour. 

President Mahama's was first Vice President to late Professor Mills and subsequently became a 'care taker president' when former President Mills passed on in July 2012. 

In December the same year, President Mahama on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, again assumed the highest office of the country, but now as substantive president and led  a four year term. 

As the constitution of the state stipulates, the mandate of Head of State ends after every four year term, but subject to renewal. 

President John Mahama did not benefit from this clause as he is the first sitting president to have served for only one term under the fourth republic. 

President Mahama, and his team  will after midnight today take a bow, as Ghana welcomes Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo as the fifth President of the Fourth Republic.

President John Dramani Mahama will be remembered for his communication skills and infrastructural development.
