Rebecca Akufo-Addo encourages children to focus on studies Wife of the president-elect Rebecca Akufo-Addo has feted some kids at her Nima residence in Accra. The New Year party was to entertain the kids and to encourage them to be responsible children. Interacting with them, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo said the president-elect Nana Akuf-Addo is committed to empowering Ghanaian children to grow up to be independent and strong adults. She encouraged the children to learn hard and make the best out of the New Year. The children, who were mostly from the Accra area, were treated to music, food, lots of confectionery amidst playing with bouncy castles and the kids fun train. There were also lots of toys for the kids to play with as well as fun games including dance competitions and musical chairs. The children, who were obviously excited, expressed their joy to GBC’s Radio Ghana while asking the incoming president to fulfill his promises made during the campaign Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo said Nana Akufo-Addo intends to implement child friendly policies that will improve the lives of Ghanaian children. The first lady also donated some items to the Accra psychiatric hospital. They included bags of rice, gallons of oil, biscuits, drinks and disposable gowns. A patient at the facility who, out of curiosity came to interact with the first lady's team appealed to the incoming president to pay attention to the needs of the facility. GBC
