President Mahama announces salary cut to support Healthcare In a bid to demonstrate leadership and a show of care for the health needs of the people, President Mahama announced a ten percent pay cut from his salary, his vice, ministers and all government appointees. The money was to be used to construct specialized Community Health Programmes and Service compounds to deal with maternal mortality and neo-natal health care. According to the Deputy Minister of Health, Victor Bampoe eleven CHPS compounds have so far been constructed across the country from the money accrued from the pay cut. GBC
