Ghana's President-Elect Akufo-Addo Pledges To Fulfill Promises To Asanteman As He Calls On Otumfuor

The President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and his Vice, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, have visited the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi in a show of gratitude to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu for his support and blessings in his third attempt at the presidency.  

On his large entourage were some national and regional NPP executives. 

Before his arrival, the premises of the Manhyia Palace was crowded with a large number of party faithful who thronged there to show the President-elect their love, support and loyalty.  

The visit of the president-elect Nana Akufo-Addo coincided with 'Awukudae', one of the sacred days on the Asante traditional calender. 

Nana Akufo-Addo thanked Otumfuo Osei Tutu for his support. 

He promised not to let Asanteman down in the sharing of the national cake. 

Also at the Manhyia Palace was the new President of the National House of Chiefs, Togbe Afede who was there to also show appreciation to the Asantehene for his support. 

Togbe Afede promised to work closely with the Manhyia Palace to restore dignity and reverence to the chieftaincy institution. 

He also pledged his readiness to promote oneness among the people of the two regionsto enhance national unity.

The President-Elect and his vice signed the book of condolence for the late Queen mother of Asanteman Nana Afia Kobi who died last month.
