Ashanti NDC Executives Accept Responsibility For Party’s Defeat The Ashanti Regional Executives of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC) have accepted responsibility for the party's defeat in last Wednesday's Presidential and Parliamentary elections. The Party projected to win a minimum of one million votes in the Presidential polls as well as increase its parliamentary seats from four to about 13. However, President John Mahama polled only a little over 500 thousand of the over two million valid votes cast while the number of seats the Party currently holds in the region has reduced from four to three. Speaking in an interview with Radio Ghana in Kumasi, the Regional Vice Chairman Augustus Andrews, said the Party has already began series of meetings to evaluate its performance in the elections and that the participants will be allowed to frankly discuss the possible causes of the electoral defeat so as to help re-organize the Party for the next elections in 2020.
