Head Teacher expresses concern about high teenage pregnancy in Asuogyaman Dist

The Mamproase and Kudikope communities in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region have expressed worry about the high rate of teenage pregnancy among female students in the area. 
 
According to the head teacher of the Mamproase basic school, William Yaw Sarpong, for the past eight years only one female pupil has been able to complete both JHS and SHS, a situation which he described as very worrying. 

Speaking at the inauguration of a three-unit classroom block built by an NGO, Pencils of Promise, Mr Sarpong, appealed to the Ghana Education Service, to as a matter of urgency post female teachers to basic schools to serve as role models for the students.
