Be circumspect in your reportage, EC urges media The Electoral Commission (EC) has called on journalists to engage in issue-based reportage in order to better inform people’s choice. To this end, media practitioners have been cautioned against unprofessional conduct when reporting on issues, but rather demonstrate a high sense of objectivity and fairness. At a capacity training workshop in Bolgatanga for some selected journalists in the Upper East Region, the Deputy Director In-Charge of Research and Monitoring at the EC, Alexander Poku-Akubia, said the success or failure of the 2016 general elections largely depend on the actions and inactions of the media. He however urged the media to show neutrality in the conduct of this year’s elections. GBC
