Elections 2016: Pusiga NDC launches campaign

The MP for Pusiga Constituency in the Upper East Region, Hajia Lardi Ayamba, has launched her 2016 campaign with a call on constituents to renew her mandate as an MP in the upcoming December polls. 

According to her, the constituency has witnessed more development under her leadership as an MP than her predecessors, adding the constituency will receive more development when her mandate is renewed. 

She urged them to vote massively for President Mahama and herself for development in the area.  

Urging the teeming supporters to guard against complacency and work tirelessly to achieve victory, the Upper East Regional Minister, Albert Abongo, took issues with the record of the NPP in terms of infrastructural development and said the NDC’s record was more impressive. 

He underscored the need for party supporters to make undecided voters their target and ensure that they voted for the NDC in the December polls. 

He called for the re-election of President Mahama so that he can continue to do more for the region and urged the electorate in the area to vote for Hajia Lardi who is also the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Select Committee of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to represent them in the next Parliament. 

The General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, said the party did not discriminate but rather provided opportunities for supporters and Ghanaians in general to realise their full potential. 

He said it was an NDC government that established the Islamic Education Unit to provide Islamic studies for Muslims who wished to pursue Islamic education and asked the Zongo communities in the country to disregard the promises the NPP was making to them. 

He expressed the view that the running mate to the NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will one day realise he belong to a wrong political party and make his way back to the NDC where he truly belong. 

He admonished voters to endorse Hajia Lardi and President Mahama. 

According to him, the record of President Mahama is unmatched, hence the need for him to be given another four more years. 

He said the parliamentary candidate partnering President Mahama will bring in more transformation in the constituency.
