Western Region MMDAs owe ECG over GHC3M

The Western Regional Office of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) says the various Metropolitan, Municipal, District Assemblies and Departments (MMDAs) in the region owe it  over three million cedis in outstanding bills. 

Speaking at a media briefing in Takoradi about the company's operations since the beginning of the year, the Western Regional Public Relations Officer of the ECG, Philip Osei Bonsu, mentioned that a total of 371 people were involved in illegal connection amounting to the loss of over GHC 316,385. 

Out of this, the company managed to retrieve only GHC 258,561.
