Friends of Former Bawku MCE pledge support for President Mahama

A group calling itself, 'Friends of Musah Abdulai,' a former Municipal Chief Executive of Bawku says it has rescinded its decision urging him  to contest as an Independent parliamentary candidate in the December election. 

A statement from the group signed by the coordinator, Tanko Akolgo said the group has followed with keen interest developments since its members declared their intention to mount pressure on Mr. Abdulai to contest as an independent candidate for the Bawku Central constituency in the Upper East Region.

It said it in every democratic contest, when issues emerge, the vanquished parties and their supporters expect party leaders to as a matter of urgency to resolve all differences and concerns fairly without any bias. 

It stated that in their case, no attempt was made by the party leaders to engage the rank and file to resolve the impasse. 

This and other misgivings compelled them to call on Mr. Abdulai to contest as an Independent Candidate. 

The statement said after extensive engagement with Mr. Abdulai and other senior party leaders and Executives, the group has unreservedly resolved to rescind its decision for him to go independent. 

According to the group, the gesture is an ample demonstration of members unflinching support and commitment to the NDC and the desire to maintain unity and harmony among the rank and file of the party towards the December polls.
