President Mahama and others submit nomination forms Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has filed the nomination papers on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama at the electoral commission on thursday affternoon. Mr. Amissah Arthur who is running mate to President Mahama presented the nomination forms at the head office of the Electoral Commission in Accra. It was received by the Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson Charlotte Osei. The President only returned from UN General Assembly meeting in the United States Thursday morning. There was wild jubilation at the premises of the Electoral Commission as supporters sang and danced around as the Vice-President got to the premises. Placards boasted that the presidential elections slated for December 7 will be a one-touch victory for the President Mahama. Also at the offices of the EC, to file nomination forms was the running mate of the All Peoples Congress (APC), Emmanuel Carl Bartels on behalf of the flagbearer of his party, Hassan Ayariga. According to Mr. Bartels, Mr. Ayariga was engaged in other important matters hence his inability to personally file. Mr. Kofi Apaloo of the Independent Peoples Party (IPP) filed his nomination papers personally. He explained that, he did not come with his bankers draft because of the PPP suit, which he indicated he was going to join. Mr. Apaloo said Madam Margaret Obrain Safo was his running mate.
