NDPC Chair once again charges youth to contribute to 40-year Development Plan The Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission NDPC Prof. Kwesi Botchwey has again reiterated the need for the youth to contribute to the crafting of the 40 Year National Development Plan. He asked the youth to educate themselves on the tenets and issues being considered in the Plan to enable them contribute to healthy debates on the development strategy. He stated that this is not a Plan to play games with and engage in unprincipled debates that often happen in some national discourse. Prof. Kwesi Botchwey was speaking at the National Launch of the “Youth of Ghana: The Future We Want to Build for Ourselves Programme” at Accra Academy in Accra. The programme is aimed that collating the views of the youth for inclusion into the 40 year Plan. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission NDPC Prof. Kwesi Botchwey says there is no “One Dam One Village”, or “One Factory One District” in the 40 year Long Term National Development Plan as being promised in this year’s campaign. He said the Plan does not capture such details. The Development Plan which is expected to come into force in 2018 will bind all governments in power to follow the dictates in the Plan. With the launch of the various manifestos for this year’s election Prof. Botchwey said it is essential that the intentions of the political parties are in line with the National Plan. GBC
