Five million Somalis going hungry- OCHA Report Five million people in Somalia, or more than 40 per cent of the population, do not have enough food to eat. Among those struggling to find sufficient food each day are 300,000 children under five years old who are acutely malnourished. The findings were provided by the UN humanitarian affairs office, OCHA. The latest figures represent an increase of 300,000 people since the last review in February. OCHA says aid partners are committed to continuing the delivery of humanitarian assistance in Somalia to both save lives and strengthen resilience. However, the agency says resources are "urgently required" for ongoing efforts to address malnutrition and access to food. SOURCE: UN Radio
