Fisherfolk urged to shun negative fishing practices

Fisherfolk all over the continent are expressing concern about dwindling fish stock in the ocean and fresh water bodies. 

The causes are attributed to negative fishing practices. 

A Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Department of Fisheries - Dr Angela Lamptey, told GBC’s George Ankrah that despite the extensive education for fisherfolk to stop using negative fishing methods, the practice persists. 

She has therefore called for law enforcement bodies to be tough in their work.
