10th September, 2016 The Ghanaian Times describes as encouraging, the turning in of more than 860 illegal arms for registration with just over a week to end the period of Amnesty granted by government. The paper says apart from endangering the peace of the country, illegal arms pose a security threat which should be of concern to all. The Ghanaian Times, while commending the Ministry for the Interior and the Small Arms Commission for retrieving the illegal arms, urges the security services to step up action in retrieving the over 400 illegal arms still in the system. It also calls on all citizens to be vigilant and provide information on people in possession of illegal arms in their communities. GBC
