Media practitioners undergo health screening 

More than five hundred media practitioners have undergone medical screening in cervical cancer, sexually transmitted diseases, malaria and breast cancer.

The programme which was spearheaded by the Lordina Foundation in collaboration with the Family Health Medical Centre, Ministry of Health and the Ghana Journalists Association is to help boost the healthcare needs of media practitioners in the Greater Accra region.

The Minister of Health, Alex Segbefia reiterated the need for constant health screening for media practitioners looking at the nature of their work.

According to the management of the Family Health Group, it took the decision for the free screening for media practitioners due to the serious stresses they face in the execution of their work.

The Family Health Group said the screening is in recognition of the invaluable role the media play in nation building as well as shaping the views of the citizenry.
