Election 2016: Governance Experts criticize high filing fees Governance Experts say very high filing fees for presidential and parliamentary candidates will discourage multi-party democracy. Professor Emmanuel Osei Asiamah who says there are many people with good ideas but cannot go into politics because of financial constraints. Professor Asiamah, who is President of the Authentic Governance Institute and Lecturer at the University of Cape Coast, told Radio Ghana, that some politicians could source funding elsewhere to meet the financial demands but this has implications after electoral victory. Meanwhile, Prof Baffour Agyeman Dua also a governance expert says, the fees should be moderate to enable the candidate to pay considering the economic situation in the country. GBC
