Protect and Preserve mangroves - Forestry Commission The Director in Charge of Wildlife of the Forestry Commission at Ada, Dickson Agyeman, says Mangroves are basic resources necessary for the livelihood of communities around them. It is therefore important for Ghanaians to ensure that they are protected to sustain species of wildlife and animals for future generations. Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mr Agyeman said mangroves are now threatened throughout the country, therefore communities should look for alternative sources of livelihood so that mangroves are preserved to enable fish to multiply in the lagoons and rivers for sustenance.
