Let’s Safeguard Peace Ahead Of Elections – Veep Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has appealed to the Bolga Traditional Council to value and safeguard the peace of the municipality at all times. He urged them to continue to exercise restraint as a result of the dispute over succession to the Bolga skin. The Vice President hoped that the issue will be resolved amicably by the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs so that the council can work effectively to support the development of Bolga. Vice President Amissah-Arthur made the call when he paid a courtesy call on the chiefs in Bolgatanga. He was happy that in spite of the chieftaincy dispute, Bolgatanga is calm and the people are peacefully going about their work. The Acting President of the Bolga Traditional Council and chief of Yorogo, Naba Johnson Awuni, thanked the government for the necessary security measures put in place to forestall any disturbances. He said the council is working hard to ensure that the succession dispute is resolved amicably. Naba Awuni expressed gratitude to government for the numerous development projects taking place in the municipality. He hoped that President Mahama’s mandate will be renewed to enable him continue to develop Bolgatanga and the region as a whole. Naba Awuni appealed to the political parties to educate their followers on the need to behave responsibly when campaigning. He deplored the situation where party supporters die or get injured during campaigns. GBC
