The Daily Graphic focuses on peace and its importance to economic growth and stability ahead of the December election. The paper recounts Ghana's first experience with the ballot box in 1992 and how far the country has come after six successful elections despite the challenges. The paper says the success of this year's election requires that the EC and all stakeholders involved in the electoral process play their parts diligently to ensure that the process is free and transparent taking cue from previous elections. 

The Daily Graphic is not happy with the EC's announcement of the identification of eighteen flash points and the need for police for protection on the day of election. The paper believes political parties should be engaged to chart a peaceful map in those areas in order to prevent violence on Election Day.

The Daily Heritage shares the concerns of the Daily Graphic with regard to the flashpoints identified by the EC. The paper wants the Ghana Police Service to take the matter seriously and put out mechanisms to protect the electoral officers who will be working in those areas on the Election Day but more especially citizens living in those violent prone areas. The paper recalls how the offices of the EC at Ahafo Ano South in the Ashanti Region were burnt because some people in the area did not agree with an outcome of an election there.  All efforts must therefore be put in to address flashpoint issues to ensure the success of the upcoming polls.
