Mugabe's Zanu-PF 'blocking food aid' amid Zimbabwe drought

The Human Rights Commission in Zimbabwe says the governing Zanu-PF party has deliberately withheld food aid from opposition supporters in some drought-stricken districts.

The chairman of the constitutionally established body, Elasto Mugwadi, says recent investigations reveal that opposition supporters are told openly that they would never get any food aid even as huge numbers of people are affected.
 
The government says half the rural population faces starvation, a situation that has helped fuel protests against President Robert Mugabe.
