Government To Meet ECG Workers Over Grievances

The Acting Minister of Power, Seth Terkper, has directed the Deputy Minister of Power John Jinapor to hold a crunch meeting with the workers of the Electricity Company of Ghana over their grievances on government decision to give out part of its operations to concession. 

A source at the Ministry told Radio Ghana, that the Public Utility Workers Union, the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, Management of ECG and officials of MiDA have all been invited to the crunch meeting Wednesday. 

Staff of the ECG last week went on a two- day strike, hitting customers hard. 

All services were suspended and customers whose credit had run out were stranded at ECG offices in their bid to buy prepaid credit.
