NPP to set up 3 development authorities if elected The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that it will set up three development authorities across the country to tackle socio-economic needs of Ghanaians if elected. The running mate to Nana Addo, Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia, announced the initiative at a party rally in Saboba yesterday. He said an NPP government will create a Northern Development Authority to cater for the Northern, Upper West and Upper East Regions. He added that, the middle and coastal belts will have separate authorities to drive their development needs. Dr. Bawumia explained that, the initiative falls under the infrastructure for poverty eradication programme (IPEP) which aims at tackling the socio-economic challenges of the nation using local solutions. According to Dr. Bawumia, an NPP government will generate the funds needed for their plans internally to avoid the pressures of external borrowing. GBC
