Fetish priest sentenced to three months in prison A fetish priest who failed to honor his promise of doubling money for his client has been sentenced to three months in prison in hard labor. The fetish priest, Benjamin Doe who resided at Adjen Kotoku in Accra falsely claimed that if the complainant gave him an amount of eight thousand cedis, he would double it to 80 thousand cedis. The complainant who is also resident in Prestea in the Western Region showed interest in the deal and gave him the money to double. After collecting eight thousand cedis from the complainant, the fetish priest demanded another 13 thousand 540 cedis to buy some items to purify the gods. He however, failed to multiply the money and also refused to return it to the complainant. He was charged with defrauding by false pretenses. Following his conviction, the fetish priest presented the eight thousand Cedis to the court as refund and also pleaded for forgiveness against custodian sentence. But the court presided over by Aboagye Tandoh refused his plea and handed him the three month jail term. GBC
