1st September, 2016 The Daily Graphic calls for teachers to be motivated as school reopens next week. The paper says while it is gratifying to note that many students will resume school under the free SHS system, the burden will lie heavily on teachers who are expected to impart knowledge to these students. The Daily Graphic agrees with the President of NAGRAT, Christian Addai Poku's assertion that quality education depends on quality teachers, tools and the environment which remains the three most important pillars of education. This is why teacher motivation, in terms of better remuneration is fundamental as government works towards a free, sustainable senior high school education. The Ghanaian Times draws attention to the feud between the Sports Minister and the Ghana Football Association. The paper says it is becoming a daily practice for the minister to speak against the FA, while the association in turn responds in similar fashion. The Times says the sports sector is an area that Ghanaians are passionate about and pay critical attention to. The paper believes stakeholders in the sports business must work closely together and not give room for misunderstandings to negatively affect activities in the sector. GBC
