Laboratory Technicians: Strike seriously affecting health delivery 

The nationwide strike by Medical Laboratory Technicians, is seriously affecting health care delivery in the country.

The strike according to the technicians is to press for the launching and implementation of a policy document which addresses three issues. 

These are; the Doctors should not head  Laboratories,  Laboratory Technicians must be part of the hospital management and that the practice should be  standardised. 

The Laboratory Technicians say document signed and presented by the former Health Minister, Sherry Ayittey three years ago addressing their concerns has not not been implemented.
