Politicians tasked to guard against nation-wrecking actions


Politicians have again been reminded of their obligations to ensure that their actions and inactions during this year’s electioneering campaign help build the nation and not destroy it. 

They must eschew hatred, acrimony and desist from the use of inflammatory language that tends to undermine the peace of the nation. 

The Bishop of the Upper Room Assembly Beatrice Dzandu-Hedidor stated this at the Church’s Annual Amazing Grace Prayer Festival at Tema Community Five. 

She emphasized the need for Ghanaians to love one another, practice the spirit of forgiveness and tolerate each other. 

Bishop Dzandu-Hedidor observed that happenings in the political landscape are a source of concern to majority of the populace. 

She noted that the political atmosphere appears to be full of mistrust and disrespect for one another. The Bishop of the Upper Room Assembly entreated Ghanaians to unite and fight the common enemies of disease, hunger, poverty and under development.

The Church embarked on a 13 day fasting and prayer to cry to God not to turn His back to the nation but to have mercy and turn the current socio-economic situation around for the better. They also prayed for peaceful elections this year.
