Laboratory Technicians strike affecting healthcare delivery nationwide Laboratory Technicians across the country have embarked on a strike to press home their demand for the authorities to streamline and regulate the sector. One of the major issues that underpin the industrial action is the non existence of a defined organisational and administrative structure. Radio Ghana has been finding out the impact the strike is having on healthcare delivery countrywide. Our Volta Regional correspondent Micah Tulevo, says that the situation is affecting patients at the Kete Krachi Hospital. In the Western Region our Correspondent, Stephenson Aggrey reports that Laboratory technicians in government hospitals in the region have not been at post since Monday. The Head of the Laboratory Department at the Effia Nkwanta Hospital, Clement Amoako said the Technicians only report for duty during emergency cases such as blood transfusion. The situation has led to most patients patronising the services of private Laboratories. GBC
