Interior Ministry lauded for amnesty to retrieve small arms

The West African Action Network on Small Arms, Ghana WAANSA, has applauded the Ministry of the Interior on the amnesty aimed at retrieving small and illicit arms.

According to the organisation, serious attention ought to be paid to the amnesty, because illicit arms have negative impact on national security.  

Speaking to Radio Ghana, the President of WAANSA, Ghana, Ken Kinney, said the increase in crimes involving the use of small and illicit arms in recent times suggests that they are on the increase.
