Kenya athletes angry at Rio shanty accommodation Kenyan athletes are stranded in a Rio shanty town following the closure of the Olympic village. The team captain, Wesley Korir said officials delayed their return home as they looked for a "cheap flight". The team won 13 medals, the highest on the continent. Mr Korir posted images on Twitter of dilapidated buildings housing them. The Kenyan Sports Minister, Hassan Wario said the government dissolved the National Olympic Committee of Kenya and ordered investigations into allegations of mismanagement and the problems the team faced in Rio.
