ECG Privatization: PUWU to embark on 3-hour demo

The Public Utility Workers Union (PUWU) of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) will from tomorrow (August 24) embark on a three hour demonstration at all regional and district offices of the Electricity Company of Ghana. 

Speaking at a news conference in Accra, the General Secretary of the Union, Michael Adumatta Nyantakyi, said the demonstration is to register their displeasure on the agreement with the Millennium Challenge Corporation compact in relation to ECG. 

He urged the government to re-negotiate the terms in the contract.
