President Mahama refutes claims by political opponents of NHIS collapse

President John Mahama has denied claims by some political opponents that the National health Insurance Scheme is collapsing. 

According to President Mahama, the scheme is vibrant and serving the health needs of clients.  

Addressing party supporters at Salaga in the East Gonja District of the Northern Region, President Mahama said Out Patients visitations have over the years increased. 

Nine million visitations were recorded in 2008 and as at last year, twenty-nine million attendants were documented. 

He added that government will continue to take steps to sustain the scheme.

President Mahama told the people of Salaga that roads within and outside the township would be constructed emphasising that contractors have begun work.
