Terrorist attack on wedding party in Turkey condemned by UN chief An attack on a wedding party in Turkey that killed at least 50 people and wounded dozens of others has been condemned by the United Nations chief. Ban Ki-moon released a statement on Sunday calling for the perpetrators of this act to be identified and brought to justice. A suicide bomber reportedly carried out the attack in the Turkish city of Gaziantep on Saturday. The UN Secretary-General expressed his deepest sympathy and condolences to the families and victims and to the Government and people of Turkey. Ban Ki-moon also wished a speedy recovery to those injured. He stressed again the need to intensify regional and international efforts to prevent and combat terrorism and violent extremism.
