Nadowli-Kaleo NPP assures Akufo-Addo of landslide victory The NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Nadowli-Kaleo, Elvis Banoemuleng Botah says “Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo is going to win the December 2016 presidential election by nothing less than 52 point five percent of the total valid votes cast.” Mr. Botah pointed out that he has a strong conviction that, “come 2016 December as we go to the polls, Nana Akufo Addo is going to win the election by a landslide victory.” He made the assertion at the inauguration of six zonal campaign teams for the Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency at Nawdoli in the Upper West Region. GBC’s Emmanuel Mensah-Abludo reports that Mr. Botah’s claim stems from what he termed “the embarrassing situation of the Mahama led administration [which] is nothing but a complete disappointment, particularly to the people of the North.” The six campaign zones for the Nadowli-Kaleo constituency of the NPP are Nadowli, Kaleo, Takpo, Nator, Jang and Naro. Mr. Botah who will be squaring it off with the Majority Leader in Parliament and MP for Nadowli-Kaleo, Alban S. K. Bagbin for the Nadowli-Kaleo parliamentary seat, thanked the members of the zonal campaign teams for their selfless dedication to the cause of NPP. He told the people that the purpose of zoning and inaugurating the campaign teams go beyond working hard to unseat Mr. Alban Bagbin who has failed the constituency and that the ultimate goal is for Nana Akufo Addo to emerge as the President of the Republic of Ghana. The NPP parliamentary candidate for Nadowli-Kaleo entreated members of the party’s campaign machinery to go into the hinterland and preach the gospel to the people who are crying for change. The 2012 NPP parliamentary candidate for Nadowli-Kaleo, Dr. Robinson Boye Bandie who stepped aside on health grounds for Mr Botah, described the 2016 parliamentary contest between Messrs Botah and Bagbin as that of “David and Goliath.” He said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a party has no message for the electorate this time round as a result of the suffering of the masses. Dr. Bandie therefore charged NPP to use what he described as “the village manifesto” which makes reference to specific challenges of a particular community in its campaign. The Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency Chairman of NPP, Martin Andonye stressed the need for unity to make the party a formidable force for victory. He was not happy about the inactivity of some party executives who pretend to be working only when Nana Addo is visiting the Upper West Region. The Research and Elections Officer of NPP in Nadowli-Kaleo, Salia Kaleo Dawud who swore-in members of the zonal campaign teams, charged them not to disclose confidential matters of the party to outsiders.
