President Mahama Inaugurates Refurbished Tamale International Airport The first phase of the refurbished Tamale International Airport has been inaugurated for flight operations. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony today (August 19), at the Tamale Airport, President Mahama said, the new airport has facilitated the air lift of 498 Ghanaian Pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform this year's Hajj. President Mahama stressed that the project was executed to lessen the perennial hardships that pilgrims from the three regions of the north go through in Accra before embarking on their journey to the Holy land for the Hajj.
