Fire guts ECG transformer at Nima

Fire gutted an ECG Sub-Station transformer, at hot coffee, Nima, a suburb of Accra, Thursday afternoon. 

According to residents, there had been power outage in the area since Tuesday. 

However, thirty minutes after power was restored they saw smoke emanating from the transformer before it burst into flames. 

Officials from ECG and the Ghana National Fire Service arrived an hour later and brought the fire under control. 

There were no casualties.
