Trade and Industry minister visits Boankra port The Minister of Trade and Industry, Ekow Spio-Garbrah says government will not let tax payers’ money spent to build permanent offices for the Boankra Inland Port go to waste. Therefore, government will take measures to protect the edifice from deterioration.The Port could provide about 200 direct jobs when it begins operation. The Trade Minister gave the assurance in an interaction with the media during a familiarization tour of the Boankra Inland Port as part of his four-day working visit to the Ashanti region. Mr. Spio-Garbrah also visited the premises of some industries within the Kumasi metropolis such as Royal Foam, Gyamfuah Ababio Investments Limited and the Logs and Lumber Limited, popularly called LLL. During the visit, it came to light that the erratic power supply has been one of the major production challenge facing the companies resulting in low production. GBC
