Nana Addo calls for full restoration of nurses, teachers allowances The Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo Addo has called for the full restoration of the allowances due nursing and teacher trainees. He condemned the cancellation and subsequent partial restoration of the allowances by the government as a knee-jerk approach to handling the issue. Nana Addo was addressing NPP faithful at Adabokrom in the Bia West District on the second day of his campaign tour of the Western Region. The NPP currently have eight out of the 26 parliamentary seats in the Western Region. It also has only one seat out of the 12 seats from Amenfi East to Bia East. Nana Akufo Addo's tour is aimed at changing the trend by explaining the NPP`s better alternative to the people. He pointed out that, the party has well thought out solution for solving the myriad of challenges facing the country. According to him, the NPP has capable men who are tried and tested to properly steer the affairs of the country. Nana Akufo Addo was also unhappy about alleged ethnocentric and religious comments being peddled by some political opponents. For his part, a former Trade Minister, Allan Kyeremanten mentioned the poor handling of the economy as the cause of hardships in the country and therefore urged Ghanaians to vote for the NPP to turn things around. He said, 300 projects have been identified under the ‘one district, one factory initiative.’ The NPP Campaign Manager, Peter Mac Manu stated that, the party will neither write a stolen verdict nor go to the supreme court because the party will be vigilant at the polling stations.
